Orthographic Decision

Participant judges whether a written letter string conforms to the orthographic conventions of a language (typically: correctly spelled vs misspelt). Distinct from Lexical Decision (real vs non-word): orthographic decision probes orthographic processing and spelling knowledge specifically. Common in developmental reading assessment.
