Brown-Peterson Task

Memorise consonant trigrams, perform a distractor task (e.g., count backwards by threes) for a variable delay (3–18 s), then recall. Demonstrates rapid forgetting of short-term memory under proactive interference — a foundational finding for the STM/LTM distinction.
